LAHORE, Pakistan: The Sunni Tehreek has announced its support for the former Speaker National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for upcoming by-polls in Lahore’s NA-122 constituency Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Meanwhile talking to media, Ayaz Sadiq said that he is thankful to all parties which are supporting him.
The main contest in NA-122 Lahore-V is between Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Aleem Khan.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Mian Muneer has announced his support for Aleem Khan in NA-122
Separately, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Mirza Nasir Baig has announced support for Umair Khan Baloch who is the PML-N candidate for by-election in NA-154 Lodhran-I.
Umair Khan Baloch will be in competition with the PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen in NA-154.
The by-elections in NA-122 and NA-154 constituencies will take place on October 11.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to deploy Pakistan army and Rangers personnel during NA-122 and NA-154 by-elections in view of the volatile law and order situation in the country as well as demands of Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab.
