In its resolution, the committee strongly denounced ceasefire violations by India on Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary, saying that there is no justification for such a belligerence.

The meeting of the committee was held at the parliament house in Islamabad on Friday with Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed in the chair.

The committee said that the statements of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are provocative, and it urged the international community to take notice of Indian aggression.

It also called upon India to respect United Nations resolutions on Kashmir dispute.

Earlier, the Secretary Defense Alam Khattak apprised the committee about the Indian ceasefire violations. He said that India has so far committed 221 ceasefire violations at the LoC and working boundary during the current year.

The secretary defense said that Indian troops deliberately target the civilian population of Pakistan while Pakistani troops give befitting response to Indian fire by targeting only their check posts. He said that Pakistani troops never target the civilian population.

Khattak said that India wants to engage Pakistan in a war, adding that Pakistan is fully prepared to respond to any Indian aggression.
