A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali issued notices while hearing a case pertaining to the PTI members’ resignation issue.

During the course of hearing today, the petitioner Zafar Ali Shah pleaded before the court that the issue of PTI resignations from the lower house is not a political one but constitutional.

The PTI had announced to boycott the Parliament in August last year to protest against alleged massive rigging in the 2013 general elections. But in April this year, it decided to return to the Parliament after almost seven months of absence from the National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Punjab and Sindh.
