LAHORE, July 17:

Provincial Minister for Home & Chairman Cabinet Committee on Flood Col. R. Shuja Khanzada while addressing the committee through video link, today, has directed administration of the province to monitor the flow of water before start of rains and increase in its level regularly and submit report after every four hours. He said that the report about the flow of water in rivers and nullahs should be sent to higher authorities 24 hours. He said that the rains can be started in Sialkot and Narowal, therefore, the administration should especially continue the monitoring process in rivers and nullahs there. He said that a watchful eye should also be kept on the flow of water in River Ravi.

Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf told provincial Home Minister that boats, motor engine boats and other equipments are being provided to the administration according to their demand throughout the province. He informed that the administration of all the districts have been bound to keep the stock of eatable items, medicines and vaccines up to date. He said that the administration has been directed to speed up the process of removing encroachments alongside rivers and nullahs so that there should be no hurdle in meeting with any emergency situation. He said that all administrations have been provided wireless sets according to their needs.
