RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked firing on Working Boundary and the Line of Control (LoC) that left four civilians killed and five others injured.
In two separate statement issued on Thursday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that three civilians including Ghulam Mustafa, Rahat and Boota from Malana and Slehpur villages were killed when Indian troops opened indiscriminate firing on working boundary in Chaprar sector near Sialkot.
Likewise, an 18-year-old girl Zareena Bibi embraced shahadat when Indian forces opened unprovoked firing in Neza Pir sector of the LoC near Rawlakot.
“Pak Rangers befittingly responding Indian fire,” the ISPR said.
It may be mentioned that Indian forces have started unprovoked firing at many places on working boundary with Pakistan and Pakistan has placed its concerns with Indian government. It has been observed that such firing incidents during the month of Ramadan every year.
Since July 2014, military officials and media reports from Pakistan are reporting constant incidents of unprovoked firing.
In October 2014, the situation became aggressive and Pakistani defence minister Khawaja Asif had to mention that Pakistan is a nuclear power and the country would be able to respond “befittingly” to the Indian aggression.
On 12 October 2014, Pakistan’s Foreign and National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz, sent a letter to UN and appealed to resolve the crises.
On 9 October 2014, the office of United Nations General Secretary Ban issued a statement that UN wants the both countries “to engage constructively to find a long-term solution for peace and stability in Kashmir”. On 14 October United Nation military observer group in Pakistan and India visited Charwah, Chaprar and Pukhlian sectors and on the Working Boundary near Sialkot to gather firsthand account of damage caused to human lives and property due to ceasefire violations.
Since the new government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi took power in India, Indo-Pak relations at working boundaries are fluid and a tense atmosphere is hunting people living at the side of Pakistan because Indian forces keep resorting unprovoked firing anytime of the day.
