Pakistan following zero tolerance policy against terror, Nawaz tells Ban Ki-moon

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of the International Conference on Water for Life in Dushanbe on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the prime minister told the UN Chief that Pakistan is following zero tolerance policy against terrorism.

The prime minister said that Pakistan will continue its support to UN efforts for peace and stability in the world.

Sharif said that Pakistan is the largest contributor in UN peace missions. He said that role in UN peace contingents is an important part of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Both the leaders in the Tajik Capital to attend the Conference on Implementation of the International Decade for Action, ‘Water for Life’ 2005-2025.

The conference which is being hosted by Tajikistan in pursuance of the UN General Assembly resolution will review status of implementation of the objectives of the Decade which include implementation of water-related internationally agreed goals.

It will adopt a ‘Declaration’, suggesting, inter alia, measures to further enhance cooperation at all levels for expeditious implementation of such goals to achieve socio-economic sustainable development.
