Political leadership vows to foil foreign conspiracies against Balochistan

QUETTA, Pakistan: The political leadership has vowed to foil terrorist activities and foreign conspiracies aimed at destabilizing Balochistan, the insurgency-hit province to have major portion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

It came when the political leadership met during an all parties conference in Quetta on Tuesday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Chair to discuss the law and order situation in Balochistan and present various proposals for its improvement.

During the conference, a declaration was adopted which says that the CPEC project has become an eye sore to the enemy and it is now using negative tactics in their bid to derail the project.

The conference had been convened by the Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch to evolve a strategy to stop militants’ attacks in Balochistan in the context of Mastung incident.

The participants of the conference strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Mastung and vowed to bring the culprits to book. They noted that Mastung tragedy was an attempt to sow seeds of hatred and disunity in the ranks of tribes that have been living in harmony for centuries.

They said that the conspiracy was foiled by people of Balochistan through their unity.

The meeting expressed satisfaction that civil and military leadership was on the same page on the question of elimination of terrorism. It said that there is complete consensus on rooting out terrorism and terrorists.

On Friday night, militants kidnapped passengers from two Karachi-bound coaches and killed at least 22 of them in Khad Kocha area of Balochistan’s Mastung district.
