[Karachi, 31stJanuary, 2015] Pakistani-American author Soniah Kamal’s debut novel An Isolated Incidentis a finalist for the Karachi Literature Festival – Embassy of France Prize 2015. The novel is one out of four shortlisted for the Prize out of a total 10 books which were submitted for nomination. The Prize winner will be announced during the opening ceremony of the Karachi Literature Festival on 6thFebruary at the Beach Luxury Hotel in Karachi.
The Karachi Literature Festival – Embassy of France Prize 2015 seeks to promote excellence in fiction written in the English languagewith the winner awarded with a fully sponsored visit to Paris Salon du Livre, a.k.a. the Paris Book Fair, a globally renowned French book festival also known as the that hosts around 45,000 authors and 1200 publishers from 25 countries every year .
The jury of the Karachi Literature Festival – Embassy of France Prize 2015 are Ms Lynette Viccaji, Head of the department of English Literature at the Lyceum School and a lecturer at Notre Dame Institute of Education Karachi., MrAnwerMooraj, Founding editor of The Herald and former Assistant Editor at Dawn, MrFramjiMinwalla, Chairman of the Department of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts at the Institute of Business Administration and Mr Jean-François Chénin, Director of Alliance Française de Karachi
