IED blast kills four security personnel in Kurram agency

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion took place in Kurram agency on Thursday, killing at last four security forces personnel and injuring another two.

The incident took place in Shabak area of Lower Kurram agency, one of the seven tribal agencies on the Pakistan-Afghan border.

The sources said that the IED went off when the security personnel were transporting water and rations for troops stationed at the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Following the blast, the security personnel reached the blast site and cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, an investigation into the incident went under way.

Seven suspected terrorists killed in Karachi

Separately, seven terrorists were killed during a search operation carried out by police in Madina Colony of Sohrab Goth in Karachi on Thursday.

The sources said that about 500 police personnel took part in the search operation in the area.
