PTI’s 'plan C aimed at creating anarchy: Pervaiz Rasheed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed said on Monday that ‘Plan A’ of Imran Khan was an attack on democracy, ‘plan B’ was aimed to create panic and scare in major cities, ‘plan C’ to create anarchy while ‘Plan D’ is aimed at destroying the entire country.

In a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, the minister said that all democratic forces of the country are united against the nefarious designs of anti-state elements to derail democracy.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced ‘Plan C’ under which major cities including Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore and eventually the entire country will be shutdown as a part of its efforts to press the government to launch an investigation into alleged rigging in 2013 general elections.

Faisalabad was the first city which the PTI had planned to close on Monday and had also appealed to traders, transporters and citizens to join its shutdown call.

However, the city witnessed violent clashes between the PTI and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers today. A 23-year-old PTI worker lost his life while several others sustained injuries in clashes between the two parties.

The information minister said that majority of the people of Faisalabad have rejected the shutdown call given by Imran Khan. He said that civil society, traders and businessmen had expressed serious reservations over the PTI’s unconstitutional call of shutting down the city.

Rasheed said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan is inciting the people to violence. He said that ‘Goonda’ elements of PTI sought to forcibly close down many schools in Faisalabad but were failed.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that Imran Khan asked his workers to go on rampage and scuffle with police in Faisalabad. He said that Imran Khan should accept that people of Faisalabad paid no heed to his call of shutting down.

The information minister said that the government is ready to resume the stalled dialogue process with the PTI to resolve the politics crisis. He appealed Imran Khan not to indulge in politics of dead bodies and have mercy on the masses.
