ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that a comprehensive strategy will have to be adopted to end militancy in the country.
The premier made these remarks in a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday and discussed overall security situation with particular reference to the ongoing operation against militancy.
During the meeting, Sharif expressed his resolve to eliminate militancy and terrorism from the country with the cooperation of public.
The prime minister said that the national counter-terrorism authority will have to be made functional to effectively combat terrorism.
Nawaz Sharif said that the nation firmly believes in elimination of terrorism from the country.
The prime minister also paid rich tribute to the security personnel who rendered sacrifices of their lives for the motherland.
