ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: To promote study in the United States and let Pakistani students to explore opportunities to study in US high education institutes, representatives from seven US universities have interacted with the Pakistani students on Saturday, here at Islamabad.

The tour, according to details, was the fifth USEFP-led South Asia Tour to Pakistan in last four years, with the collaboration of the EducationUSA.

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is a bi-national commission established in 1950 by the governments of Pakistan and the United States to promote mutual understanding between the people of both countries through educational and cultural exchange.

EducationUSA Advising Manager Umair Khan, while welcoming the participants, described the purpose to connect students in Pakistan with US universities. He further called the South Asia Tour a great networking platform for developing closer ties. “Pakistani students, along with their parents, must plan their higher education goals to earn a degree from the best possible educational institution in the US. He emphasized.

“The tour is an opportunity for the general public as well as Pakistan’s brightest and best high school students to obtain first-hand information about academic and campus life at accredited US colleges and universities.” Said one of the US University representative, present on the occasion, while appreciating the caliber and talent of Pakistani students.

This year’s recruiting delegation included representatives from Valparaiso University, University of Northern Iowa. Savannah College of Art & Design, Hiram College, New York University-Polytechnic School of Engineering, Saint Peter’s University, and Fairfield University.

A large number of Pakistani students have attended the event. In addition to meeting prospective students, the university representatives interacted with many institutional counterparts in different cities including Lahore and Karachi.
