Lahore: Mr. Salman Javed Chairman FPCC&I Standing Committee on Marketing was conferred the Award for Meritorious Services in the field of Tourism & Aviation for the year 2012, at a ceremony recently held at College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Lahore. Dispatch News Desk reported.

Panel of judges for this prestigious award comprised of Mr. Peter Jakobsen Honorary President World Chiefs Association and Mr. Ahmad Shafiq Secretary General/Executive Director (COTHM).

Mr. Javed, who is a known personality on the domestic & international Tourism & Aviation horizon – served as Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and ex-Director of PIA, wherein he had held various assignments in Pakistan & overseas, including General Manager for Gulf, Area Manager South Europe, General Manager Balochistan and General Manager Passenger Sales/Flight Services/Airport Services, Hajj & Umrah. He is presently working as Chief Operating Officer Khyber International Pak Pvt Ltd.

He is also former Honorary, Joint Secretary General South Asia Tourism Association & Vice Chairman, Committee of Affiliate Members, United Nation World Tourism Organization, besides been Chairman Pacific Asia Travels Association Pakistan Chapter. He represented Pakistan at over 40 international Tourism events & Conferences.
