KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) welcomed the apology offered by Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq over his remarks against formation of a university in Hyderabad, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, MQM Coordination Committee hailed Pir Mazhar’s apology and expressed hope that he would approve a bill in the provincial assembly for the establishment of university in second largest city of Sindh.

Earlier, the provincial education minister had said while addressing a seminar that he would not allow anyone to constitute any public sector university in Hyderabad.

After MQM’s stern reaction, the Pir Mazhar said that he had not said anything against building of the university in Hyderabad. He further said that not only one but two or three universities would be constructed in the city.
