PESHWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday instructed Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattat to end coalition with the Sher Pao’s Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) in the province over corruption.

“Imran Khan today issued a strong advisory to Me to pull out of the coalition with Qaumi Watan Party,” the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattat wrote on twitter.

Meanwhile, the PTI is contacting Pakistan People Party (PPP) to make a new alliance in the province, sources said.

In a statement, the PTI chief said that government’s decision to end their coalition was based on the QWP ignoring multiple warnings that it was issued about the corruption of their ministers.

“But this party chose to tolerate corruption and instead showed its displeasure at the corruption being pointed out by boycotting the provincial cabinet meetings,” the statement said.

Imran said that his party was elected on a mandate against corruption and has zero tolerance for any form of corruption.

“This should be a clear warning 4 all r Ministers/MPAs. PTI cannot have as a coalition partner any Party that tolerates corruption,” Imran said.

On the other hand, the PTI chief praised ministers from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the other coalition partner of PTI in the province.

“Our JI ministers have proven exemplary in this regard and we respect them for their commitment towards anti-corruption,” he said.

Earlier, the provincial government dismissed three cabinet ministers over poor performance and corruption charges.

Those provincial ministers who were removed from their posts included minister for Industries, Commerce & Labour Bakht Baidar, minister for Environment Al Haj Ibrar Hussain and minister for Communication & Works Yousaf Ayub Khan.

Bakht Baida and Al Haj Ibrar Hussain belong to QWP and Yousaf Ayub Khan is from the PTI.
