KARACHI: The number of injured people during the overnight violence in the city of Lyari, mounted to 14, as tension prevailed over the area.

The injured have been shifted to Lyari General Hospital. Several Lyariites overnight protested at Aath Chowk against the violence marked with gunfire and hand grenade attacks.

The road in front of the main gate of Civil Hospital has been closed owing to intense gunfire.

SP Old City Tariq Dharejo said the armed groups want to take hold of their respective areas; however, they will not be allowed to spark further violence in the city, adding the armed people will be shot down at sight.
