LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday announced 45 percent decrease in railway fares.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, the minister said that the decrease in fares will be implemented on all trains except the Karakoram Express.

The railways minister said the fare of AC Business Class has been reduced from Rs 4200 to Rs 3500 while the fare of A/C Sleeper Class from Lahore to Rawalpindi has been reduced from Rs 1580 to Rs 1200.

Saad Rafiqure said fare of A/C Sleeper from Lahore to Peshawar have been brought down from Rs 2430 to Rs 1400. He said 24 new locomotive have been added in the system.
