DND News: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government has been running without a cabinet since October 15 because Chief Minister Sohail Afridi says he will announce his cabinet only after meeting the founding chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, who is currently in jail following convictions in several corruption cases.

On October 24, 2025, Afridi was not allowed to meet the party’s founding chairman and former prime minister, Imran Khan. Outside Adiala Jail, Afridi announced that he would seek justice from the public, claiming that the state was denying him justice by preventing his meeting with Imran Khan.
Using provincial protocol, Afridi has done little as chief minister and has spent much of his time outside Adiala Jail since assuming office. While running the province without a cabinet, Afridi’s administrative authority appears to be focused on political showmanship rather than governance. This video itself shows how public funds are being wasted to please a man imprisoned on corruption charges. One may reasonably conclude that the entire paradigm of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rests on corruption—administrative, financial, political, and moral—including the misuse of provincial resources without serving the province.
