Islamabad, Pakistan: The opposition party in the Parliament, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), on Sunday boycotted the government’s briefing on tensions with India.
The government invited the leaders of the opposition to the National Assembly and the Senate. However, PTI refused to attend the briefing and demanded holding a Multiparty Conference (MPC) to review the post-Pahalgam attack situation.
PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed receiving the invitation but stated the party would not participate.
The government has not released the list of political parties that attended the briefing given by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
