Islamabad, Pakistan: “The State of Pakistan is becoming weaker than before and this reality is the lesson of May 9 2023 Black Day and its aftermaths because the culprits who attacked the State symbols are enjoying lives as legislators instead of being in jails. One of the alleged culprits is the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and another is the Chief Minister of KPK Province”.

This was observed by a senior analyst, anchorperson, and journalist Iftikhar Ahmed while commenting on a question about what Pakistan had learned from May 8 Black Day. Iftikhar Ahmed who is known for his candid and honest opinion regarding governance in Pakistan and his almost zero level tolerance when matter comes to the motherland of Pakistan was of the view that the State of Pakistan must respond in the way a group of anarchists responded towards the state on May 9, 2023. He was of the view that former prime minister Imran Khan not only ordered rather planned attacks on state symbols before his arrest but even after coming out on bail he reaffirmed that the state would deal in the same way if he could be arrested again. Iftikhar was of the opinion in one year of the post-May 9 Black Day era, the State of Pakistan kept giving space to culprits.

Iftikhar is not the only one who thinks clearly and speaks loudly rather there are millions of people like him and they are of the view that the lame response of the PDM government and even of the Interim government was a great space for culprits as no new legislation was introduce to punish attackers and their cases were sent to a normal judicial system that has one of the worst reputation in the world at a stand at the lowest position of global justice index. Every person who loves this motherland believes that daredevils are now asking the Army for negotiations after attacking the honors of the Pakistan Army as well as of the country and they are those who even did not spare monuments of martyrs.

There is no doubt that COAS Gen Asim Munir has sent a loud and clear message to them there is ‘No’ room at all for any talks with those who attacked the state on May 9, 2023, and he rightly believes that there can be no compromise or deal with the planners and architects of this dark chapter in our history.

The State should have first punished those about whom irrefutable evidence in the form of audio, video, and text messages were available but the majority of them are sitting in the Parliament of the country

General Syed Asim Munir, while talking to military men during his visit to Lahore Garrison indicated that inimical forces and their abettors have unleashed “Digital Terrorism” and are trying hard to create division between the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan by peddling lies, fake news and propaganda.

COAS said that 9th May would undoubtedly remain a black day in the history of Pakistan when deliberately indoctrinated and insidiously guided miscreants attacked the symbols of the state and national unity, disgracefully desecrating the Shuhada monuments. He condemned that now the plotters of May 9, 2023, Black Day were shamelessly trying to twist the narrative and implicate the state in this despicable endeavor. This mindset is precisely the reason why there can be no compromise or deal with the planners and architects of this dark chapter in our history.

COAS Asim Munir expressing his regret to Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that the State of Pakistan is yet to punish those who burnt his resident Jinnah House in Lahore.

Although COAS spoke to the heart of every Pakistan who loves this country the unfortunate part of the story is that why the State of Pakistan is yet to penalize those who used naive flowers who did not understand the real motive behind this criminal enterprise and were used as cannon fodder for the political ambitions of the masterminds.

The State should have first punished those about whom irrefutable evidence in the form of audio, video, and text messages were available but the majority of them are sitting in the Parliament of the country. Their presence in Parliament is actually a mockery of the Parliament itself that it is the forum where bona fide criminals are sitting. Until and unless the planners, abettors, facilitators, and culprits of 9th May are thrown out of the Parliament through certain legislation, a brazen violation of the constitution will continue and Parliament will have no respect in the pages of history. Now, the responsibility lies on parliamentarians to keep their forum clean from horrific criminals or decide to sit with them and keep ridiculing the veneration of the Parliament.
