ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah.

In a post on X on Saturday, he said that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Kuwaiti Royal Family and the people of Kuwait at this moment of grief. He prayed for the departed soul.

The interim prime minister said that the late Kuwaiti Emir will always be remembered for his sterling contribution to strengthening Pak-Kuwait relations.

Eerier in the day, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah passed away at the age of 86.

Sheikh Nawaf was admitted to hospital last month due to emergency health problem.

The late Emir had ascended the throne in September 2020 after the death of his half-brother Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah is the current Crown Prince of Kuwait.
