ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In a distinguished ceremony commemorating the Romanian National Day, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) Jawad Sohrab Malik addressed participants including the Chargés d’affaires of Romania Eduard-Robert Preda, and highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Romania.

The SAPM also underscored the shared commitment to mutual growth and collaboration between the two nations.

Reflecting on the historic relations, the SAPM emphasized the significance of Romania in global partnerships for mutual aspirations of progress and prosperity.

The collaboration between Pakistan and Romania has thrived in recent years, with Romania emerging as an increasingly important partner for Pakistan across economic, cultural, and diplomatic spheres.

Acknowledging Romania’s dynamic sectors and welcoming environment, the SAPM underlined the positive impact of the collaboration, providing not only employment opportunities but also fostering cultural exchange and understanding of each other.

Highlighting the achievements in this regard, the SAPM mentioned that 8,912 Pakistani workers have been employed in various sectors in Romania over the last five years.

The SAPM also highlighted the proactive role of the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment in exploring job opportunities for Pakistani workers in Romania.

Jawad Sohrab Malik reaffirmed the government of Pakistan’s commitment to enhance cooperation and stated that the government aims to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor migration with Romania. This MoU will create a structured framework to facilitate safe, orderly, and regular labor migration and will address the impediments that may arise in the process.

Concluding the address, the SAPM reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to establishing sustainable collaboration with Romanian employers to ensure lawful access to overseas employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled Pakistani workforce.

In the end of his address, the SAPM extended Pakistan’s warm wishes to Romania on the occasion of their National Day.
