ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a meeting in Islamabad today to finalize the national energy policy.

This was stated by Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid while talking to newsmen after attending the meeting of All Pakistan Newspapers Society in Islamabad.

He said the government is making sincere efforts to overcome the energy crisis and wanted to give relief the nation and for this purpose various short‚ medium and long term measures are being taken. He said in the new energy policy priority will be given to generation of solar and coal based energy.

To a question‚ Pervaiz Rashid said the government intends to pursue the court proceedings in high treason case against former President Pervez Musharraf in the light of Supreme Court’s directives‚ fulfilling its constitutional obligations.

Referring to the issue of letter to Swiss government‚ the Minister said a committee has been formed to look into the issue.
