The Citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will the sight the crescent moon on Thursday evening (29th day of Ramadan), signifying the end of the Holy Month and the beginning of Eid Ul Fitr.

In UAE, the Moon Sighting Committee has requested anyone who sees the crescent to contact the number 026921166 to be directed to the nearest Court to record the testimony.

If the moon is spotted on Thursday, Eid Ul Fitr will be declared on Friday but if the moon is not sighted, then April 22 will be the start of Eid.Saudi Arabia, UAE Sight Moon for Eid Ul Fitr

Meanwhile, ahead of Eid Ul Fitr, public squares, main roads and bridges in Abu Dhabi have been all decked up in glittering lights.

In a statement, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) said that the decorative lights, which are set up as popular motifs associated with Eid festivities, aim to spark joy and promote a sense of community spirit in the Emirate.

In Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will also meet in Islamabad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Thursday evening for sighting the crescent of Shawwal 1444 AH.

Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also hold their meetings at their respective headquarters while the final announcement regarding sighting of the moon will be made by the Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad.
