ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Radio Pakistan and Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK) organized a condolence reference in Islamabad on Thursday to pay tribute to Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani on his first martyrdom anniversary.
The Minister for Human Rights Riaz Hussain Pirzada, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Syed Ali Geelani was the symbol of Kashmiri freedom movement.
Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that Geelani always raised the slogan that we are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours. He said that this slogan is reverberating in every part of the world.
The minister for human rights said that Kashmiri people want solution of Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations resolutions.
The minister urged the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Amnesty International to take concrete steps for the resolution of this outstanding dispute.
Others participants including the Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR) Altaf Hussain Wani, senior journalist Agha Iqrar Haroon, and the Executive Director YFK Zaman Bajwa also paid glowing tributes to Syed Ali Geelani for his lifelong struggle for the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.
