RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that the rescue and relief efforts by Pakistan army and FC troops along with the civil administration continue in flood affected areas of Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh.

In a statement on Thursday, the ISPR said that two army aviation helicopters have been flown from Karachi to Othal area of Balochistan’s Lasbella district. These helicopters had attempted during last 48 hours also but could not fly due to bad weather conditions.

The helicopters will now shift stranded people to safer places and also transport necessary relief items.

The ISPR said that the General Officer Commanding at Gwadar visited Othal area to oversee rescue and relief efforts. Today senior local commander at Khuzdar will visit flood affected areas of Khuzdar and surroundings.

The ground rescue and relief teams are busy in Othal, Jhal Magsi in shifting people to safer places and provision of food and water to local residents. Doctors and paramedics are providing medical care to affected people.

The ISPR said that coastal highway has been opened for all kinds of traffic. Efforts are in hand to repair the damaged communication infrastructure and restore utilities. Protection bund in Turbat which was breached has been repaired.

In Punjab, according to the ISPR, troops are assisting the civil administration in relief Efforts in DG Khan due to flash flooding/ hill torrents.

The ISPR said that two medical camps have been established by army to provide medical care to local people affected due to floods.

Similarly, in Sindh, apart from dewatering efforts in Karachi, troops are busy in relief efforts in Jamshoro and Gharo areas.
