Islamabad, Pakistan: Both National Security Committee (NSC) meetings were told in explicit detail that there is no evidence of a conspiracy against Pakistan or against the government, reemphasized Director General Inter-Service Public Relations (DGISPR) Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar while answering questions of anchor Kamran Shahid at Dunya TV on Tuesday.

He was asked to comment on a statement of former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad who claimed that services chiefs did not rule out that there was a conspiracy against the country hatched by the United States with the help of opposition parties.

Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar maintained that both NSC meetings were attended by the Chairman Joint Chief of Staff and all three chiefs of services and the chief of Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) and all had the same opinion that the correspondence of the Pakistani Ambassador to the United States to Foreign Office of Pakistan had anything that could be attributed to any conspiracy. Moreover, intelligence agencies also reported that there was no conspiracy hatched by the United States against Pakistan or against the government of the then Prime Minister Imran Khan with the connivance of the then Opposition parties.
