ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Lauding the role of the Christian Community in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that the minorities’ role in Pakistan will continue to be acknowledged in days to come.

While addressing a Christmas Ceremony organized by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) in Islamabad on Friday, the minister said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in his address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on August 11, 1947, had declared that the rights of minorities will be fully protected in the State of Pakistan.

In the Ceremony, the information minister also cut the Christmas Cake and felicitated the Christian Community on Christmas.

The Christian Community in Pakistan will celebrate Christmas in a befitting manner on Saturday (December 25).

The Festival of the Christian Community will be marked through different activities ranging from big official gatherings to Cake Cutting Ceremonies at the level of small communities, illuminating houses, and observing prayers in Churches.

Special Services will be held in Churches across the Country and prayers would be offered for peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan as well as for the safety of all humanity from the life-threatening pandemic.

Special Cake Cutting Ceremonies will be arranged at different Ministries and Departments to share the happiness of the festival with the Christian Staff Members.
