Pakistan will play their second warm-up match against South Africa on October 20.

The qualifying round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 kicked off in Oman on October 17, wherein Scotland pulled off an upset against Bangladesh while Oman ripped through Papua New Guinea.

In the inaugural game at Al Amerat in Oman, Oman sealed a comfortable 10-wicket victory against Papua New Guinea.

While batting first, Papua New Guinea scored 129 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Oman reached the target in 13.4 overs without losing any wicket.

Pakistan Fixtures in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021

In yesterday’s second game, the 14th ranked Scotland defeated the 6th ranked Bangladesh by 6 runs.

Scotland put 140 runs for 9 on the board and in response, Bangladesh managed to score 134 for 7 in 20 overs, falling short of 6 runs.

Two more matches will be played in the first round of the T20 World Cup. Ireland will take on the Netherlands at Abu Dhabi whereas Namibia will be up against Sri Lanka.

The qualifying round is featuring 8 teams that have been divided into two groups – Group A and Group B.

Group A has Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Namibia while Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, and Bangladesh are part of Group B.

The two most successful teams from each group will qualify for the main round which will begin on October 23. The final will be held on November 14.
