Lahore: Since 18th June 2021, Lahore Museum has launched an online exhibition of artifacts of Chinese Collections. These artifacts were donated by Maulana Hifz-ur-Rehman Minhas to Lahore Museum.

Online Exhibition of Chinese Collections at Lahore Museum on 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Pakistan and China

It is part of the online education and awareness program of Lahore Museum. Maulana Hifz-ur-Rehman Minhas donated artifacts of Silk Road, China, Central Asia, and South Asia to the Lahore Museum when it was opened in 1964. His gallery is inside the museum with his name. Chinese artifacts were a Great part of his donations. Known as Raees of Lahore from Paisa Akhbaar family, he dedicated the whole of his life to archeology and curation work. Delhi Museum, Lahore Museum, and Bahawalpur Museum are some of his contributions as a Curation Expert. Having command of 5 languages, including English, Sanskrit, Persian, and Arabic he left a legacy of several students of Archeology and Curation. His huge donation includes pages of the Holy Koran written by Hazrat Imam Hussian, artifacts of Gandhara, Egyptian civilizations, and Indus Vally Civilisation.

Hifz-ur-Rehman died on December 31, 1970, while leaving three daughters. Forty years later, on 23 March 2011, President Asif Ali Zardari posthumously honoured him with the “Sitara-i-Imtiaz” (The Star of Excellence) Award for his services in the fields of archaeology, history, and linguistic research.
