ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office has said that Pakistan greatly appreciates the continued support and cooperation by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“We greatly appreciate the UAE’s continued support and cooperation,” the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in response to queries on the UAE’s decision to roll over the US$ 2 billion deposit by the Abu Dhabi Fund.

“We greatly appreciate the UAE’s continued support and cooperation. The UAE’s decision to roll over the USD 2 billion deposit by the Abu Dhabi Fund, conveyed during Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s just concluded visit to the UAE is yet another manifestation of the close cooperative relations between the two countries,” the Spokesperson said.

Earlier on Monday evening, in a meeting with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Foreign Minister His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced the Country’s decision to roll over $2 billion deposited by the Abu Dhabi Fund.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah also affirmed the UAE’s commitment to extend every possible support to Pakistan.

In the meeting, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed their mutual desire to further strengthen cordial relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
