ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Chaudhry Fawad Hussain as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Previously, he was serving as the Federal Minister for Science and Technology.

Fawad Chaudhry also held the portfolio of the Information and Broadcasting from August 20, 2018 to April 18, 2019 before he was assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Meanwhile briefing the media about the decisions taken in the meeting of the Federal Cabinet which met in Islamabad on Tuesday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair and discussed the overall political and economic situation of the Country, Fawad Chaudhry said that the Cabinet has accorded approval for the deployment of Pakistan Rangers in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Bahawalpur.

Fawad Chaudhry said that it’s the government that has to make decisions, and no one is entitled to dictate the State.

The information minister further said that the third wave of the COVID-19 is very alarming, and if it’s not contained within two weeks, the situation may turn even worse.
