ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Yasin Malik, has thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for taking up the issue of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir with his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi.

In her statement, the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan for writing a letter to his Indian Counterpart to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people living under siege of the Indian army for the last 603 days.

In his letter to Narendra Modi, Imran Khan said that durable peace and stability in South Asia is contingent upon resolving all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

“The people of Pakistan also desire peaceful, cooperative relations with all neighbours including India,” Imran Khan wrote. “Creation of an enabling environment is imperative for a constructive and result-oriented dialogue,” he emphasized.

Mushaal Mullick said that Imran Khan rightly pointed out that peace and stability in the region concomitant to the resolution of the long-standing Kashmir dispute.

The Kashmir leader expressed optimism that the Indian prime minister would reciprocate in the same friendly gesture to find out an amicable negotiated settlement of the Kashmir dispute to ensure lasting peace in the region.
