ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Immunization Drive against COVID-19 began across the Country on Wednesday.

The process of the COVID inoculation took place simultaneously in all Federating Units.

The Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar initiated the National Immunization Drive in a Special Ceremony at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) in Islamabad.

The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, the Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Mohammad Khalid Khursheed Khan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider participated in the Ceremony via video link.

In Sindh, the Vaccination Ceremony was held at the Dow University Ojha Vaccination Center in the presence of the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah as the Chief Guest.

Initially, health workers were being vaccinated with Sinopharm vaccine against COVID-19 throughout the Country.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan formally launched the Country-wide Coronavirus vaccination campaign in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, in a Twitter statement, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said that the people are being benefited from the successful strategy of Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the Corona vaccination.

The information minister said that starting vaccination campaign simultaneously in all provinces is a practical step that the federal government is providing equal chances to all federating units.

Shibli Faraz said that the provision of health and job opportunities to people are the priorities of the government.
