LAHORE, Pakistan: Every family across the Punjab province will be eligible to have free medical treatment up to worth Rs 720,000 under the Sehat Insaf Card Scheme by the end of 2021, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar announced.

In a statement on Tuesday, Usman Buzdar said that the Universal Health Coverage will be offered in every district of the province by the end of 2021.

The Chief Minister said that the process of providing the Universal Health Coverage will be initiated in two districts next month.

Earlier, Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting on the Universal Health Coverage Program in Lahore on Tuesday which accorded approval to provide health coverage to every citizen of the province.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that a target has been set to provide the Universal Health Coverage in all districts of Punjab by the end of next year.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that in the first phase, complete health coverage will be provided in the two districts of the province.

Usman Buzdar said that every citizen of Punjab will be provided an annual health insurance of Rs 720,000 through Insaf Health Cards.
