LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government is issuing the “Insaf Medicine Card” from Saturday to ensure the timely and free provision of medicines to registered patients suffering from Hepatitis, Tuberculosis (TB), and Aids across the province.

The initiative is being taken by the Punjab Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare.

In the first phase, more than 165,000 patients will be provided the “Insaf Medicine Card”.

The Card Holders will receive free medicines of Hepatitis, TB, and Aids from any District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ), Tehsil Headquarter (THQ), and Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Punjab’s 36 districts after Biometric Verification through Centralized Dashboard.

Earlier on Friday, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated the “Ba Himmat Buzurg Program” and distributed cards among the elderly women.

For the Program, a Special Fund has been set up with an initial amount of Rs 2 billion to assist deserving senior citizens of 65 years and above.

Under the Ba Himmat Buzurg Program, needy senior citizens will be given a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to lessen their financial difficulties.
