ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 125 schools have been sealed in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) in the last two months for having COVID-19 Cases.

So far 25,278 people have been infected by the novel Coronavirus in the ICT and 265 patients have succumbed to it.

According to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Coronavirus Cases have skyrocketed in Islamabad in the last two weeks, and now we are back to the July situation.

Hamza Shafqaat told that at present, I-8, G-6, G-9, & G-10 Sectors and Rawat are COVID hotspots.

The Deputy Commissioner further told that 4,099 COVID-19 patients are under treatment in Islamabad, and out of them, 230 people are admitted in hospitals while 37 are on ventilators.

Alluding to the Coronavirus Cases in education institutions, Hamza Shafqaat told that 125 schools have been sealed in Islamabad over the emergence of Coronavirus Cases.

“Health teams are extremely vigilant to protect our children,” he said.

Meanwhile, further 2,547 people tested positive for Coronavirus across the Country in the last 24 hours and 18 people died of it.

Now the total number of Coronavirus Cases has mounted to 365,927 whereas death tally has reached 7,248.

However, a significant number of 326,674 patients have now recovered; therefore, the active Cases remain to be 32,005.

Since the second wave of COVID-19 is being witnessed now in the Country, the government has imposed a ban on public gatherings while a meeting is scheduled on November 23 to reach a decision regarding the closure of Schools.
