Foreign OfficePakistan strongly protests over ceasefire violations by India

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan again summoned a senior Indian diplomat to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Friday to register its strong protest over ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on September 17, resulting in serious injuries to three innocent civilians.

Three residents of Andrala Nar Village including 15-year-old Irum Riaz, 16-year-old Mukheel, and 26-year-old Nusrta Kausar sustained serious injuries due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian forces in Hotspring and Jandrot Sectors of the LoC.

The Indian forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary have been continuously targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, and automatic weapons.

In 2020, India has committed 2,280 ceasefire violations to date, resulting in 18 shahadats (martyrdom) and serious injuries to 183 innocent civilians.ceasefire violations - Pakistan again summoned a senior Indian diplomat to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Friday to register its strong protest over ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on September 17, resulting in serious injuries to three innocent civilians. In 2020, India has committed 2280 ceasefire violations to date, resulting in 18 shahadats (martyrdom) and serious injuries to 183 innocent civilians. Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces, it was underscored that such senseless acts are in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, and are also against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct. These egregious violations of international law reflect consistent Indian attempts to escalate the situation along the LoC and are a threat to regional peace and security. It was added that by raising tensions along the LoC and the Working Boundary, India cannot divert attention from the grave human rights situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). The Indian side was called upon to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, investigate this and other such incidents of deliberate ceasefire violations and maintain peace along the LoC and the Working Boundary. The Indian side was also urged to allow the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to play its mandated role as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
