ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A total of 527 illegal sale points of animals have been closed across Pakistan while 21,755 fines have been imposed, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was told on Saturday.

The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar presided over the NCOC meeting in Islamabad.

The forum was briefed on the implementation and violations regarding preventive measures in cattle markets on Eidul Azha.

It was told that 269 illegal sale points of animals have been closed in Punjab, 255 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 3 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

Asad Umar said that the COVID-19 pandemic can be controlled by observing social distancing in prayers and following the given instructions.

In his remarks in the meeting, Asad Umar said that as per the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we should celebrate Eidul Azha with simplicity.

The federal minister urged the general public to avoid going to the entertainment places and gatherings on Eid.
