UncategorizedCOVID-19: Pakistan Launches Bilingual Chatbot for Assistance

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has turned on the red alert across the globe and everyone is in a panicky state following the present critical situation. The Coronavirus pandemic has been declared as a global emergency and every country is trying to find out the solution to fight this disease in its own capacity.

We know that Pakistan is deprived of sufficient health facilities and so it is a big challenge for the government to deal with the situation wisely and vigilantly. The Head of Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus revealed on Twitter that the government of Pakistan has launched a chatbot to address common concerns related to Coronavirus.

“Our team wanted to build an effective way to get information out to Pakistanis. We’ve launched a chatbot to address common concerns on #Coronavirus. You can find labs near you and even do a quick test to assess your risk of #Coronavirus. Please try it out!” Tania Aidrus tweeted.

According to the details, the Digital Pakistan team collaborated with Botsify to create the chatbot which connects users with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad.

The chatbot will be assisting everyone to address common queries related to Coronavirus and quash misinformation circulating around social media. This chatbot can be used through social media.

You can select the language of your choice, Urdu or English and subscribe to the COVID-19 updates. The chatbot will provide information related to coronavirus symptoms, precautions, risks as well as testing.

The Digital Pakistan Team was working on the technological techniques to cope up with the situation effectively. The basic idea is to create awareness as no information can lead to disasters and taking it in relevance to the Coronavirus pandemic, it can result in something worst.

Moreover, no one can deny the fact that this situation is not only affecting physical health but also disturbing everyone around mentally, the main reason for which is the spread of false information. So it was the need of the hour to work on something like chatbot in order to stop misinformation all around.

We hope that it could contribute well for the purpose it has been made for in the critical situation turned on by COVID-19. If you notice any symptoms or having any doubts about the condition of your health, get it tested right away and take assistance from the chatbot to avoid any trouble regarding the search of the designated testing centers. Take all precautionary measures and stay safe!
