ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) with the collaboration of Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) and Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) is organizing a Policy Dialogue “Religious Inclusion and Respect for Diversity in Education System” in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The policy dialogue will focus on three thematic areas: single national curriculum & patriotism, and Responsible citizenship & Social cohesion, and Textbook material.

The dialogue will facilitate the exchange of views between policymakers and independent education policy experts, and contribute to amplify the policy inputs for improvement in the national education system.

The Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood will be the Chief Guest in the event.

The Parliamentary Secretary for Education Wajiha Akram and the Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony, and Shunila Ruth will also be participating the policy dialogue.

The National Curriculum Council will be represented by its members including Dr. Nighat Lone, Peter Jacob, Suhail Bin Aziz, Dr Sughra Chaudhry Khan who will share their insights on education system reforms.

The eminent educationists, researchers and experts in the education sectors including the Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Dr Qibla Ayaz, the Director Islamic Research Institute Dr Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Dr Baela Raza Jamil, Professor Dr Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir, Tahira Abdullah, Saima Anwer, Khursheed Nadeem, Harris Khalique, Mosharraf Zaidi, Professor Anjum James Paul and Zehra Arshad will contribute their thoughts on the need to reforms for inclusive and equitable education.

The panel discussions will be moderated by Munizae Jahangir, Dr Afshan Human and Amjad Nazeer.
