ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Electric Rickshaws with innovative swappable batteries will be launched in three Major Cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Sialkot and Peshawar with the collaboration of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and local manufacturers.

In this regard, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam met a Korean delegation at his Office in Islamabad on Tuesday, and discussed the launch of Electric Rickshaws.

The advisor was briefed about the Pilot Project of Launching the Electric Rickshaws with innovative swappable batteries in Lahore, Sialkot and Peshawar.

It was told that there would be 600 Electric Rickshaws ready in approximately one month period.

Malik Amin Aslam said that this would be a good initiative to create awareness regarding climate change. He said that the project will help in measuring the feasibility and testing grounds for experts in the future.

While showing the proposed models of the Electric Rickshaws, the Korean delegation explained that swappable pable batteries of these Rickshaws would be recharged in an hour and is the best technology that is environment-friendly too.
