Note: The above information was shared with the Senate on January 31, 2020 by the Minister for Federal Education, Professional Training, National History and Literacy Heritage Shafqat Mahmood in reply to a question by Senator Kalsoom Perveen.

Further apprising the House about steps taken by the government to regulate and monitor the Private Educational Institutions in Islamabad, the minister told that the PEIRA issued a notice to Private School Managements on September 23, 2019 to issue revised fee vouchers in line with the Judgement of Supreme Court of Pakistan in “Private Schools Fees Determination Case” issued on September 13, 2019.

However, Private Schools of Islamabad and their association filed various writ petitions in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) with the intention that the Supreme Court’s Judgement is not applicable in case of Private Schools of the ICT.

The IHC issued restraining orders that no coercive measures shall be taken in pursuant to the notice issued by the PEIRA on on September 23, 2019 in pursuance to the Supreme Court’s Judgment.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
