Government of PakistanResolve issue via dialogue for sake of democracy, Pervaiz Khattak asks Opposition

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Defence and the head of negotiation team representing the government in talks with the Joint Opposition Pervaiz Khattak on Friday invited the opposition to come to the dialogue table for the sake of democracy, Constitution, and law in the Country.

Responding to a point of order raised by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the National Assembly, Pervez Khattak said the opposition talked of democracy and law but it wasn’t ready to sit on the dialogue table to sort out issues.

The minister said the people of Pakistan had rejected the opposition parties in 2018 general elections and they should have accepted the voters’ verdict.

To another point, Pervaiz Khattak said the Constitution of Pakistan allowed the government to promulgate ordinances.

The Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur said he was ready to vacate his seat to contest the by-election against the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in election arena.

Ali Amin Gandapur also urged Maulana Fazlur Rehman to end his sit-in and for by-election to prove his popularity.
