Just a few days ahead of the Opening of the newly upgraded and renovated Kartarpur Gurdwara Sahib, a Special Song on Kartarpur Corridor has been launched.

The Kartarpur song has been released by the Directorate of Electronic and Media Publications (DEMP), an attached department of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The song carries a message of peace, love and religious harmony, and as per the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, it will go a long way in promoting our soft image of peace and inter-faith harmony.

The minister said that the release of the Kartarpur song will also send a signal to the world about true face of Islam besides giving our image of enlightened and moderate nation. 

It comes when Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to perform the opening of Kartarpur Corridor on Saturday (November 9) on the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Dr Firdous said that the opening of Kartarpur Corridor is execution of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of protection and freedom of all minorities. She said that the government and the entire nation welcomed the Sikhs pilgrims to Pakistan with open arms.

The entire Kartarpur Corridor project is funded and executed by the government of Pakistan as a gift to Sikh Community.

The project would be executed in phases; in Phase I, the building has been established along with the bridge, terminal and other infrastructure; and in phase II, the building will be expanded and hotels and apartments will be built to accommodate more and more visitors.

The Commercial areas will also be established to facilitate the pilgrims.

Under the Kartarpur Corridor, 800 acre of land has been allocated for the project, of which 104 acres is currently used for the main building and its courtyard while 36 acres of land has been reserved for plantation. The rest of the area will be used for construction of bridge, terminals and pavements.

Separately, Pakistan Post has released a Commemorative Stamps on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

The Islamabad-based Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency has begun running Special Transmission on Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Russian language via “DND Radio”.
