Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (October 17, 2019) launched Kamyab Jawan Program, one of incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s flagship initiatives, as part of his vision of creating 10 million jobs.

Prepared under the National Youth Development Framework, the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan program revolves around six thematic areas; mainstreaming marginalized youth, employment and economic empowerment, civic engagement, social protection, health and wellbeing, and youth-focused institutional reforms.

The Kamyab Jawan program has been developed in collaboration with three main departments, namely Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) which will look after the asset transfer program and the interest free loan program and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) along with three Major Banks (National Bank of Pakistan, Bank of Punjab and Bank of Khyber) and Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (SMEDA).

Under the banner of Kamyab Jawan, the PM’s Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme has been developed enabling the youth to get loans up to Rs 5,000,000.

How to get loans from Kamyab Jawan Program?

For the youth availing loans fewer than Rs 100,000, no interest will be charged. While for loans less than or equal to Rs 500,000, markup rate will be six percent per annum; and for loans greater than Rs 500,000, markup rate will be eight percent per annum.

Any Pakistan resident between the age limit 21-45 is eligible to apply for the loan. However, it is relaxable to 18 years in case of applicants applying for IT or Computer-related businesses.

The application for loan under the PM’s Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme can only be submitted online as no physical application form is required. All applications have to be submitted online with non-refundable Rs 100 as processing fee at the following link/ address and submit: www.kamyabjawan.gov.pk

The Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme is for both startups as well as existing micro and small business enterprises.

There is no general requirement of minimum educational qualification or documents to be submitted at the time of online form submission.

All persons even those employed in private jobs can apply for loans. However, the government employees are strictly barred from applying under the scheme.

Under the Scheme, a minimum of 25 percent share on aggregate basis of all loans has been kept for women.
