ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on an election rally of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Parwan province, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

As many as 24 civilians including women and children lost their lives while 31 others injured in a blast near an election rally held by the Afghan president in Afghanistan’s northern Parwan province on Tuesday.

“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families while praying for early recovery of those injured in the attack,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad.

The statement said that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

“Pakistan fully supports the Afghan efforts for restoring complete peace and stability in the country through strengthening of the democratic process in Afghanistan,” it added.

The Afghan Ministry of Interior Spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said that the Parwan blast was a suicide attack and the bomber was on a motorbike.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in Parwan.
