Foreign OfficePakistan condemns blast which struck foreigners’ compound in Kabul

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist bomb attack on a foreigners’ compound in Afghanistan’s Capital yesterday, which has led to loss of innocent lives.

At least 16 people were killed and over 100 people injured in the massive explosion followed by the sound of small-arms fire in Kabul City on Monday night.

“We want to express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, as we pray for early recovery of the wounded,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The statement said that Pakistan has maintained that there is no military solution to the complex issues in Afghanistan.

“We continue to firmly stand together with the Afghan nation and fully support their efforts to restore complete peace in the country,” it added.

According to Afghan Interior Ministry Spokesman Nasrat Rahimi, the blast occurred near Green Village, a large compound that houses aid agencies and international organisations.
