LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has accorded an approval to the recruitment of 4,500 College Teacher Interns (CTIs) in provincial government colleges.

Out of them, 400 seats have been reserved for minorities and special persons.

The CTIs will be awarded another opportunity with extension to their employment tenures if they demonstrate satisfactory performance during the ongoing education year.

The concerned department has been directed to devise a strategy for examining the performance of CTIs.

The Chief Minister has also sought recommendations for the recruitment of College Teacher Interns in the year 2020-21. The recruitments will help resolve the issue of teachers’ shortage in colleges.

Usman Buzdar said that the recruitment process will be transparent and merit-based. He said that the quality of education will be improved in government colleges. He added that the precious time of students won’t be wasted after the recruitment of CTIs.
