NewsNAB arrests Miftah Ismail in LNG Case

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested the former Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail and the former Managing Director Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Sheikh Imran Ul Haq in a Case related to the award of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract.

Both of them were taken into custody from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) after a two-member bench of the Court didn’t approve their bail plea.

Now NAB will produce them before an Accountability Court tomorrow.

Earlier on July 18, the former Prime Minister and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also apprehended by NAB from Lahore in the same case.
